Hitler’s wax figurine was not kept on display at Madame Tussauds after removal of Ye’s

If Your Time is short

  • Both the Kanye West and Adolf Hitler wax figurines have been removed from Madame Tussauds London location, which was the only place the Ye figurine had been exhibited. A Hitler figurine also was removed in 2008 from the wax museum’s Berlin location.

Kanye West’s recent antisemetic comments unleashed a tidal wave of backlash, as  sponsors and business partners cut ties with him.

Even a wax figurine of West, who goes by Ye, was removed from public viewing at Madame Tussauds London museum, a museum spokesperson confirmed to The Guardian. The figure was put into archive storage.

But social media posts are claiming Ye’s wax figurine was removed while Adolf Hitler’s figurine remained on display.

The claims, which include a Nov. 4 Instagram post, were flagged as part of the platform’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram.)

Madame Tussauds — known for its displays of wax replicas of celebrities and public figures at locations around the world — has publicly said that both Ye’s and Hitler’s figurines were removed from public display. Ye’s had displayed only in London, while Hitler figurines had been exhibited in  London and Berlin.

Featured Fact-check

"Ye’s figure has been retired from the attraction floor to our archive," a spokesperson for Madame Tussauds London told the Guardian. "Each profile earns their place at Madame Tussauds London and we listen to our guests and the public on who they expect to see at the attraction."

According to the Hollywood Reporter, there has never been a figurine of the rapper at any of Madame Tussauds’ six U.S. locations.

A second Hitler figurine that was displayed at the Madame Tussaud Berlin location was removed from public viewing in 2008 after a museum patron decapitated it.

We rate the claim that Ye’s wax figure was removed from Madame Tussauds but Adolf Hitler’s remained False.
