New feature creates candidate report cards
It's spring, which means it's report card time. So PolitiFact is unveiling a new feature that allows you to compare the report cards for individuals and groups we check.
Our new comparison pages display the Truth-O-Meter tally for selected people or groups. To get more details, you can click on any single ruling and see all of that candidate's Trues, Falses, etc.
To launch the feature, we've created pages for the presidential candidates and the Republican and Democratic parties. In the next few weeks, PolitiFact will publish additional comparisons of involving Super PACs and other groups, congressional leaders and others whose records are newsworthy.
Here at PolitiFact Florida, we've created a scorecard for the U.S. Senate race. The seat is currently held by Democrat Bill Nelson. Republicans George LeMieux and Connie Mack are competing for the Republican nomination.
The scorecard will automatically update as we add more fact-checks between now and November. Email us if you have suggestions for facts to check in this contest.
We hope to add more details to the report cards such as percentages to make it easier to do comparisons.
As always, we'd love to hear your suggestions about our features. Send them to firstname.lastname@example.org
See individual items for complete sources.
We want to hear your suggestions and comments. Email the Florida Truth-O-Meter with feedback and with claims you'd like to see checked. If you send us a comment, we'll assume you don't mind us publishing it unless you tell us otherwise.
