Ileana Ros-Lehtinen is a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives from South Florida. First elected in 1989 to succeed the venerable Democrat Claude Pepper, Ros-Lehtinen in 2011 became chairwoman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
