Every year, PolitiFact reporters and editors come together for a meeting we call the PolitiFact Palooza, where we discuss our journalism and future plans. This year's meeting is being held Feb. 17-18 in St. Petersburg, Fla.

The annual get-together gives us a chance to plan our fact-checking efforts for this year's midterm elections, as well as discuss our fact-checking methodology and how we can improve. We'll look back at 2013 and think about ways we can innovate in 2014. The fact that it's 70 degrees and sunny in St. Pete really gets our creative juices flowing!

Our meetings take place at the Poynter Institute, a school for journalists that owns the Tampa Bay Times, Florida's largest daily newspaper and PolitiFact's parent company. Poynter also partners with PolitiFact for PunditFact, our new project that fact-checks the talking heads.

We'll take a break from fact-checking for a few days, but we'll be back later this week.
