Trying to quell claims that he wasn’t born in Hawaii, President Barack Obama released his long-form birth certificate Wednesday.

But state Rep. Leo Berman, who has filed legislation to require presidential candidates on the Texas ballot to present their birth certificate to the secretary of state, is still airing doubts about the president’s origins. Wednesday morning, the Tyler Republican claimed the hospital listed on Obama’s certificate denied that he was born there.

We found no evidence to support the statement and rated it Pants on Fire. But it’s hardly the first unfounded claim about Obama’s birthplace. PolitiFact has checked several other such claims, finding no truth to any of them.
