Tonight's Texas gubernatorial debate gave Attorney General Greg Abbott, the Republican nominee, an opportunity to show why he deserves his frontrunner standing. It gave state Sen. Wendy Davis of Fort Worth, the Democratic candidate, a fresh chance to show she's ready to overtake him.
