Lima Abdullah is a veteran journalist with more than 20 years of experience reporting, editing, and managing politics and government coverage at the local, state, and federal level. Over the past decade, she's helped lead Washington coverage for NPR and helped head up similar coverage online for ABC News and NBC News. She has also edited for Bloomberg Government, reported for the Dallas Morning News, CNN.com, and Newsday, and was a Washington correspondent for McClatchy Newspapers. She has written for MSNBC.com, thegrio.com, TODAY.com, and The New York Times, among other news organizations.

She taught undergraduate level English, creative writing, and journalism at Brooklyn College and John Jay College in New York and the University of the District of Columbia in Washington D.C., undergraduate journalism courses at the University of Maryland in College Park, MD., and graduate level journalism courses at American University in Washington D.C. Her work has appeared in several anthologies and she has received multiple journalistic awards for her news coverage and newsroom leadership including her work as part of the ABC News team honored with the 2019 Edward R. Murrow award for “Overall Excellence."
