No, Mark Zuckerberg wasn’t arrested

If Your Time is short

  • Claims that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was arrested are unfounded.

A recent Facebook post appeared to break news about an arrest some critics of the social media platform may have enjoyed.

"BOMBSHELL!" the title of a video in the post said. "ZUCKERBERG FIRST ARREST!"

But the video itself didn’t offer any evidence to support the claim that Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook’s parent company Meta, was in custody.

This post was flagged as part of Facebook’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Facebook.)
