Kai Degner

Kai Degner was first elected to the Harrisonburg (Va.) City Council in 2008 and was chosen by his colleagues to be mayor from 2009-10. Degner, a Democrat, ran for the U.S. House of Reprentatives in 2016, challenging longtime Republican incumbent Bob Goodlatte in Virginia's 6th Congressional District. Degner holds a bachelors degree in Integrated Science and Technology and an MBA from James Madison University.
