Nicole Barrios, a staff writer for the Pflugerville Pflag and Round Rock Leader newspapers, was covering city governments, the Round Rock Independent School District and community issues in 2016. Barrios, a graduate of Texas State University, also worked as a weekend breaking news reporter for the Austin American-Statesman.
