On the campaign trail, Gov. Scott Walker said he will return the state "to traditional hunts – enough with T-Zones and Earn-a-Buck (programs related to herd management).” Walker said this would make "Wisconsin the best place in the nation to hunt white-tailed deer again."
We asked Department of Natural Resources spokesman Bill Cosh about this promise.
His response:
For the 2011 season, there is no Earn a Buck program in zones other than those with chronic wasting disease and there are no T-Zone hunts -- special four day October gun hunts -- other than in the chronic wasting disease areas.
So Walker followed through. We rate this one Promise Kept.
