Ora Houston

Ora Houston, elected the District 1 member of the Austin City Council in November 2014, is a longtime East Austin resident who worked 27 years for the Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation and, prior to that, as a caseworker with Child Protective Services and Austin Travis County MHMR. After retirement, Houston worked in the office of state Sen. Gonzalo Barrientos.
