Katelyn Ferral is a freelance investigative reporter based in Tampa, Florida. Before moving to Florida, she was on the investigative team at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel where she re-launched the paper’s Public Investigator initiative and executed several long-form investigative projects. Prior to that, she was the investigative reporter at The Capital Times in Madison, Wisconsin, where she led numerous investigative projects focusing on military affairs, campaign and state agency spending. She previously covered the energy industry on the business desk for the Pittsburgh Tribune Review in Western Pennsylvania. She started her journalism career in North Carolina for the Raleigh News & Observer where she covered local government in Chapel Hill.
