Stand up for the facts!
Our only agenda is to publish the truth so you can be an informed participant in democracy.
We need your help.
I would like to contribute

This Thanksgiving at PolitiFact, we’re giving thanks for fact-checking.
We believe strongly that accountability fact-checking is at the heart of an informed public and a strong community. PolitiFact started in 2007 as an election year project of the Tampa Bay Times. In the 16 years since, we’ve built an archive of more than 24,000 fact-checks, expanded into a nonprofit newsroom of more than 20 full-time journalists and won a Pulitzer Prize.
If you tuned into United Facts of America earlier this month, you heard firsthand the many challenges to democracy we face going into Election 2024: propaganda posing as news, misinformers spreading vaccine myths, complicated legal challenges and more.
The good news? You can help us build a stronger, more informed world.
Thanks to our NewsMatch campaign, from now through Dec. 31, a generous funder will match all new monthly donations through next year, or double a one-time gift right now.

Our year-end giving goal is $120,000, the largest amount we’ve ever reached for. We think we can do it, and we’re counting on you to donate to PolitiFact.
