Adopt countywide public safety master plan
The plan -- developed with the police chiefs, the U.S. marshals office and the county prosecutor's office -- will improve intelligence sharing between communities, coordinate purchasing and improve records management inter-operability.
Establish a Safe Neighborhoods Task Force
The special patrol unit will be "deployed strategically around the county to augment local law enforcement agencies," as part of a "data-driven 'hot spot' approach."
Establish a program to keep offenders from returning to crime
"A community-based program is needed to address the root causes of recidivism; the link between criminal activity and economic opportunity must be acknowledged and addressed."
