Mitt Romney's big night, plus a Texas teacher

Mitt Romney, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Callista Gingrich each made claims on the last night of the Republican National Convention in Tampa, drawing the attention of the PolitiFact Truth-O-Meter.

Early in the evening, Bush introduced a teacher from the Del Valle school district, southeast of Austin, who said his interest in focusing on what students need to succeed prompted him to embrace creation of an academy within his school devoted to science, technology, engineering and math. Sean Duffy's remarks reminded us we've checked promises by Gov. Rick Perry about the T-STEM academies; those are posted to the right.
