Wisconsin state Sen. Glenn Grothman, R-West Bend, served in the state Assembly from 1993 to 2004 and has served in the Senate since 2004. In April 2014, he announced he would challenge U.S. Rep. Tom Petri, R-Fond du Lac, in the August 2014 primary election. Grothman emerged from the primary, then on Nov. 4, 2014, he defeated Democrat Mark Harris to win a two-year term in Congress.
