Gov. Tony Evers made a lot of promises on taxes and spending while campaigning for the office he now holds.

With his first budget in the books — after some significant changes by the Republican Legislature — it's time to check in on some of those. This round includes a promise kept, a promise broken and a few in between.

As a reminder, our Evers-O-Meter tracks dozens of Evers' promises, just as we did on the Walk-O-Meter for his predecessor.

Updated promises:

— Raise no taxes

— Bolster preventive health programs that have been defunded

— Increase spending on public transit

— Increase spending on early childhood education
