Every year, PolitiFact reporters and editors gather for the PolitiFact Palooza, a conference to discuss our journalism and future plans. This year's meeting is being held Feb. 4-5 in St. Petersburg, Fla.

The Palooza gives us a chance to talk about our work, the principles of the Truth-O-Meter and how we can improve. We'll be reviewing how we did in 2012 and discussing our plans to expand in 2013.

The meeting is being hosted by the Poynter Institute, a journalism education center that owns the Tampa Bay Times, our parent company. Last year we launched the PolitiFact Lab at Poynter, a partnership for education and new ventures such as our Settle It! app.

(Please don't tell our spouses or coworkers that it's 70 degrees and sunny in St. Pete today!)

We won't be posting new fact-checks on our national site while we're at the Palooza. But we'll be back with new fact-checks later in the week.
