On <i>Glee,</i> the character played by singer Ricky Martin claimed that the Census Bureau "believes that by 2030 the majority of Americans will use Spanish as their first language."
We don't typically fact-check fictional TV shows (particularly musical ones), but a recent claim on the Fox show Glee piqued our interest.
A Spanish teacher played by singer Ricky Martin told his students that they need to learn Spanish to function in the U.S. in the future: "Do you know that the U.S. Census believes that by 2030 the majority of Americans will use Spanish as their first language?"
